Gary was indeed a great guitarist and the band was an original no doubt. However, Ricky Medlocke was originally in Skynyrd as drummer before forming the great Blackfoot band. Ricky came back to the band as guitarist and he is a true American rocker - Great singer and guitarist.

The band has put out new music (some really good music and some just ok) so it wasnt just a tribute band. At this point however, I prefer to have Johnny do his thing with Donnie (van zant brothers) and have Ricky do Solo thing.
